Use the Sphere option to take a 360 degree spherical image that can be uploaded to a viewer application or website. This allows you to automatically capture a full, 360-degree field-of-view from the snapshot location. You can create spherical snapshots in the Main view, or in the Renderer window for more realistic images. In both the Main view and the Renderer window, the spherical image shows only the 3D model objects and elements.

For snapshots of the Renderer window, Smart Review does not capture measurements, comments, the timestamp, and the view axis

Follow the steps below to create a 360 degree spherical image.

  1. Set up your model view or select objects to render.

  2. Click View > Settings > Photo-Realism to set up the environment for the image, and then click OK to save and close the Photo-Realism Settings dialog box.

For best results, we recommend that you select either no background image (None) or the Environment sphere.

  3. From the Main view, click View > Snapshot .

Smart Review displays the Snapshot View dialog box.

  4. Select Sphere.

The software automatically selects Ignore aspect ratio, and sets the default dimensions to 1024 x 1024. You can change these, but the width and height values must always be equal.

  5. Select Raytrace image to use the Renderer and create a photo-realistic snapshot.

The software automatically opens the Renderer window.

  6. Select a location, filename, and file type for the resulting image, and then click OK.

  7. You can now upload the image file to a third-party viewer application that supports 360 degree and virtual view images.
