Each time that you manipulate the Main view with a shaded image, the image updates. This can be time-consuming, especially for large designs. You can speed up the process for motion and static (no motion) updates of a shaded image by changing options on this tab.
The software does not support Anti-alias if you have enabled Ambient Occlusion or Outlining with a width of value of 1.
Allow
Clear the following view settings to improve motion performance, or select a setting to honor its visual effect even though movement might be slower. If the settings have been selected in the View > Settings dialog box, they are selected in the Motion Settings Display tab.
Fly-to behaviors
Enables the 3D Navigation fly-to mode when checked. Fly-to mode dynamically transitions you from one view point to another. It is supported by various Smart Review commands and actions that involve changing the current view point. For example, when performing any Fit operations, clear this option to turn off the fly-to transition. Instead, you are immediately taken to the new view point. This option is enabled by default.
All texturing
Clear the setting to temporarily remove textures during motion. For more information on Object textures, see Display Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
View cone update
Clear the setting to suppress the update and related overlay graphics during motion. For more information on View Cone settings, see View Cone Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
Position status update
Clear this setting so that the position information does not change during motion. The model positioning information displays in the right side of the status bar.
Anti-alias
Clear the setting to suppress the smooth object display effect during motion. For more information, see Advanced Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
-
The Visuals tab is only available in Tablet mode and only enabled if Smart Review is using graphics card acceleration.
-
Anti-aliasing uses your system’s display adapter to smooth surfaces in the model. You can use Anti-alias in the Main view by itself or in combination with Shadows and Outline settings in which the outline width is set to 2 or 3.
-
Ambient Occlusion is not supported for snapshots.
Outline
Clear to suppress outlining of 3D objects when you are moving around in the model. For more information, see Outline Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
Phong
Clear to suppress a more detailed highlighting of 3D objects. For more information, see Display Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
Ambient occlusion
Clear to support lighting of 3D objects and soft shadows. For more information, see Lighting Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
Cast Shadows
Clear to suppress shadows for 3D objects. For more information, see Lighting Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).
Source lights
Clear to suppress the display of MicroStation and Shaded view lighting. For more information, see Environment Tab (Photo-Realism Settings Dialog Box)
Clipping
Clip far
Sets the far clipping plane to the specified value (if this value is smaller than the current far clipping setting). Use this option with some large models to reduce the amount of graphics being drawn, resulting in decreased update time while allowing you to see all graphics near the eye point.
Clip far distance
Sets the distance of the optional far clipping plane used during motion.
