Motion > Mouse Drag Modes > View Cube > Settings

Opens the View Cube Settings dialog box to turn the View Cube on and off, define the handle display, and configure face handle text.

View Cube Dialog Box Options

Activate

Turns on or off the View Cube in the Main view.

Defaults

Resets the current View Cube settings back to the original default settings.

Show handles

Specifies the display of face, corner and edge handles.

A = Corners
B = Edges
C = Faces

Transparency

Sets the visibility of the view cube.

Colors

Sets the color of the handles.

Font

Specifies the typeface and size of the face text handles when you select Custom text.

In addition to text, you can use symbol fonts such as Wingdings and Webdings to create a graphical symbol to use for each of the face handles.

Face handle text

Specifies the type of face handle to display. The colors used for the face handles coincide with the colors used to represent each direction in the View Axis. To display the axis, select View > Display > Axis > Activate. The View Axis and the View Cube work together to move the eye point about the model. When you move the eye point location, the View Axis and View Cube move.

  • Face - Displays default text as Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, and Bottom.

  • Directional - Displays text as North, South, East, West, Up, and Plan.This is the direction that you are looking toward, just like the behavior with Common Views when you select Looking North, Looking East, and so forth.

  • Custom - Displays user-defined, custom text for each face handle. When this option is selected, enter your text in each of the Custom text boxes.

Sample text

Provides a preview of your custom text for the front face handle only.

  1. Select Motion > Mouse Drag Modes > View Cube > Settings .

  2. To see the View Cube, click Activate.

    The View Cube surrounds the current model.

  3. Set the handles to display and their color.

  4. Select the face handle text to either Face or Directional.
    -OR-
    Click Custom and type the new text for each face.

  5. Click Font to change the face handle text typeface.

  6. Close View Cube Settings.

  7. To turn off the View Cube display in the Main view, clear Motion > Mouse Drag Modes > View Cube > Activate.
