Hardware Recommendations

  • Intel Core i7 Processor or equivalent

  • Minimum 8 GB RAM; 16 GB RAM or more recommended

  • DVD drive access, either locally or through a network connection

  • Monitor capable of a minimum of 1024 x 768 Resolution

  • A workstation class graphics card designed for 3D intensive, OpenGL-based, 3D-CAD applications

  • (Optional) Smart Review supports 3D Stereo. Consult the documentation that came with your hardware to make sure it supports 3D stereo.

  • (Optional) Digital joystick

  • (Optional) Smart Review supports a 3D mouse (wired and wireless). Consult the documentation that came with your mouse for installation and motion configuration.

Supported Operating Systems

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2019

  • Microsoft Windows 10 (ver. 1803 or later) Professional and Enterprise Client (64-bit)

    Beginning with Windows 10, Microsoft will enforce the Internet Host Table Specification RFC 952 which mandates that component hostname labels can contain only alphanumeric characters. Host names using underscores (‘_’) are not allowed. Refer to Microsoft KB 101785.

Software Prerequisites

Although the Smart Review setup application loads some requirements automatically, you may be prompted to perform a reboot or manually load required software.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017

  • Google Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge

  • Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8.1 (MDAC 2.8.1 is available on the product DVD)

    If you are running Smart Review on a non-English operating system and locale, you must download the appropriate locale-specific version of the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) from Microsoft. Smart Review might not work correctly with multi-byte characters when using the English version of MDAC.

  • Microsoft DirectX 9.0 (required for using a joystick with Smart Review)

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2. You must go to the Microsoft Download Center to install the required .NET Framework version. If the product installation does not detect .NET Framework, you are prompted to manually download and install this required software before the Smart Review installation can continue.

  • Intergraph Smart Licensing 2019

  • To support connection for live property data and 2D drawings:

    • Smart 3D 2018 and the Intergraph Smart 3D Web API 2018

    • SmartPlant Foundation 2019 (10.0)

    • SPF Web Client 2019

    • HxGN SDx Operations 2019 Update 6 or later

    • A standard third-party Identity and Access (authentication) Management software application that supports the OAuth 2.0 protocol

    To access the SDK, you must be added as a user with Administrator/SuperUser access rights, or be assigned the global privilege, View All Global/Project Data via SDK.

  • MicroStation SE 05.07.01.14, MicroStation/J 07.01.04.16 (Smart Review supports PDS models used in conjunction with MicroStation SE and MicroStation J. However, element types new in MicroStation J are not supported by PDS and Smart Review).

Smart Review displays MicroStation/J SmartSolids in shaded mode if you change the display setting to Surfaces using the MicroStation/J Change SmartSolid Display tool on the 3D Utilities tool bar prior to opening the project in Smart Review.
