Through Options Manager, you can identify and specify the path to symbols, drawings, templates, and reports for SmartPlant Electrical. Also, you can define default symbols and properties for items, default formats for data, and naming conventions that affect new items of each type.
Options Manager controls the hierarchy of items in the software and controls the uniqueness of data used throughout the life of a project. For example, you can define whether item names need to be unique, and whether the uniqueness applies at the plant or unit level.
In Options Manager, you can customize:

Default data file locations

Settings for parameters used in cable sizing

Naming conventions

Item types
-
Plant default preferences for new and existing users

Project-wide parameters (property values of item types)
Usually, an administrator sets these options at the beginning of a project. The administrator seldom modifies these options except on occasions when project requirements dictate a change.
