This feature allows you to set the cable properties that will be updated when synchronizing plant cables with reference cables. This synchronization takes place after:

  • comparing a plant and reference cable data for a single cable (this option becomes available if at least one of the properties of the associated reference cable has changed)

  • applying reference data to plant cables in batch mode

  • changing the associated reference cable of a particular plant cable.

This dialog is available when selecting Options > Set Cable Properties for Synchronization on the Options Manager menu bar.

The options are as follows:

Category

Displays the category of a specific cable property. For example, Physical, Load and Electrical, and so on.

  • You can group the display of the grid according to Category by dragging the Category header to the area above the grid.

  • You can filter out some of the categories by selecting the filter icon in the Category header.

Property

Displays the cable property name as it appears in the Properties window or Common Properties dialog.

SHARED Tip You can filter out some of the properties by selecting the filter icon in the Property header.

Selection Check Box

Allows you to select a cable property for synchronization. You can select the top check box in the header to select all the cable properties that exist in the grid.

Note that not all cable properties are available for selection in the grid, depending on the property type. Some properties cannot be selected and some are selected all the time.

  • Cable properties that are available for selection. These are shipped and user-defined cable properties and they will be synchronized after they are selected.

  • Hard-coded system properties which are always selected. These are shipped properties and they are always set for synchronization. You cannot clear these selections.

  • Cable properties that cannot be selected for synchronization. These properties are only displayed in the grid and they appear as unavailable for selection.

  • Some cable properties are hidden as they are not applicable for synchronization.
