This feature allows you to create an association between items that belong to different plant group types.

The plant hierarchy path of the required item types must be defined in the source data. To define the correct hierarchy path of the source data, use the Get Plant Hierarchy Path dialog box to copy the exact hierarchy path for each source electrical item. For details, see Insert Correct Item Hierarchy Paths in Source Data.

  1. In Import Manager, run the Association Link wizard for a required item type. For details, see Create an Association Link.

In order to associate two items that belong to different hierarchy levels, the ItemHierarchy property must be one of the of the mapped properties both for the parent and child target item types.

  2. On the Define the Association page, in the Target group box, select the required item type from the Parent item type list.

  3. Under Parent item type, click in the Item Type Property box and select ItemHierarchy from the list.

  4. From the Source pane, select a source field and drag it to the parent ItemHierarchy source field under Parent item type in the Target group box.

    • Click Add to add a new row to define another parent item type property.  Click Delete to delete a definition row from the parent item type property list.

    • Click Expand to view the page in full screen mode.  Click Expand again, to continue and return the page to normal-size mode.  You can only continue to the next page when the page is in normal-size mode.

  5. From the Child item type list, select a child item type.

  6. Under Child item type, click in the Item Type Property box and select ItemHierarchy from the list.

  7. From the Source list, select a source field and drag it to the ItemHierarchy child source field under Child item type in the Target group box.

Click Add to add a new row to define another child item type property.  Click Delete to delete a definition row from the child item type property list.

  8. Click Next.

  9. On the Completing the Association Link Wizard page, click View to examine the association link summary information.

  10. Run this association link.
