The most important step prior to developing a new report is to understand where the information in the report will come from. Based on the Smart Materials physical tables, the development team should take the given specification and evaluate what tables need to be accessed and how they are to be joined. Furthermore, they need to identify any additional logic that will be required to present the information in the format requested (for example, if any filtering applies as shown below).
