The Markup > Place Symbol command allows you to select a symbol and place it anywhere in the active markup
layer. You can select from any symbols currently loaded in the symbol file.

The Place Symbol command is available only when one or more markup layers are displayed in the Detail File Viewer window.

You can design new symbols using the Markup > Create Symbol command.

Once you have selected a symbol, you can resize and rotate it before placing it in the active markup layer. To resize the selected symbol, press SHIFT+Up Arrow key or SHIFT+Down Arrow key. To rotate the selected symbol, press SHIFT+Right Arrow key or Shift+Left Arrow key.

A symbol cannot be resized or rotated after it has been placed in the active markup layer.

The symbol is a markup element; thus, it takes on the characteristics of the active markup layer, including its color.

SmartPlant Markup Plus is delivered with a sample symbol file called sample.rsm, located in the SmartPlant Markup\Symbols directory.
