You can receive materials manually using barcodes, RFID tags, or a combination of both. MobileScan allows the user to generate an MRR in Smart Materials based on a RN or a PO. MobileScan also generates a Direct MRR when you receive materials without a PO or a RN. When a shipment arrives at a warehouse, the barcode or RFID tag is scanned using the trigger mount paired with the mobile device. MobileScan pulls the associated data from Smart Materials and knows what materials is supposed to be received. You can also auto-group the materials based on PO or RN.
To process/create an MRR, the following rules must be satisfied:
-
The user must have an appropriate role in Smart Materials (Receive Role).
-
An MRR rule for receiving (allows you to create MRRs).
-
MRR must be assigned to the user.
-
The PO or the RN must satisfy the project default ZC_ALL_PO settings.
The following diagram displays the material receiving process:
MRR numbering rule for Smart Receive
MobileScan application follows numbering rule for displaying MRR's based on the assigned user or the logged in user:
-
Check if the logged in user has numbering rule.
If yes, the application uses the user numbering rule for naming the new MRR's.
User numbering rule is a combination of user, role, discipline, and nls that the user selects to log in.
-
If the check fails, MobileScan uses the default numbering rule.
Split Tags
Tagged items can be big and expensive, such as a tank or a compressor. The split tag that allows you to create sub-parts for a tagged item at different stages within the procurement and site control module is now available in MobileScan. For more information about Split Tag function in Smart Materials, see Split Tags.
In MobileScan, the first scan of master tag will only create entries of master and child line items of the split tag but quantity is not updated. After the first scan is done, you may start receiving the line-items.
