If you want to use a particular filter geometric for the assembly specification items, you must define a table on the A.50.02 Tables screen.

In the first (Table Types) block, select the GEOM_S5020 type from the drop-down list in the Type field.

In the second (Table Names) block, enter the table name (FILTER-1NPS-1SCH) in the Name field and the table descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields.

To define the table structure, you must assign attributes to the table on the A.50.03 Tables/Attributes screen.

In the first (Table Names) block, select the table name you have defined on A.50.02.

In the second (Attributes) block, you assign pre-defined attributes to the table to specify the table structure of the geometric. For more information, see Table Definition.

Based on the previously described table definition, you can create a filter geometric on the S.50.20 Wallthickness Geometrics screen.

Enter the name of the geometric in the Geometric field. Select the pre-defined table name from the LOV in the Tablename field. Enter the geometric descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Click the Next Block button to open Window 2, where the geometric details are defined.

Enter the nominal sizes of the assembly in the NPD1 (INPUT_1) field and the schedules in the SCH1 (INPUT_2) field.

The filter geometrics must be specified in a way that only uniquely defined idents can be created using these filters. For example, you must not assign different schedules to the same nominal pipe size.

To use this geometric as a filter for assemblies in the specification, you must assign the geometric to the specification on the S.50.06 Specification Management screen.

The screen opens in enter query mode; that is, all fields are empty and displayed with a yellow background color. Select the specification you want to edit from the LOV in the Spec Code field, and click the Run Query button. On the Spec Header Geometric tab at the bottom of the screen, create a new record using the New Record button. Select the Filter check box. Select the assembly short code (ASS-FLG) from the LOV in the Short Code field. Select User defined from the LOV in the Table Type field. Select the name of the previously defined filter table from the LOV in the Table Name field. You can select sizes from the LOV in the From1 and To1 fields to specify the valid size range of the assemblies.
