With .NET technology from Microsoft, Intergraph Smart® Reference Data Plus provides an easy-to-use user define workload name interface for creating and editing reference data information, including commodity codes, idents, and parts, as well as piping specifications.

You can also use this software to manage classification systems, export data to SmartPlant Isometrics, and compare and synchronize catalogs between Smart® 3D and Smart Reference Data Plus.

The Smart Reference Data Plus application is both similar to and different from the Reference Data functionality in Smart Materials (Oracle Forms application, also called Smart Materials classic).

In terms of commodity codes, the base functionality and data structure are much the same in both the Plus application and in the Forms application. The notable difference is the user interface.

Specification management is different in the Plus application and Forms application. The workflow in the Plus application is more aligned with the natural, technical way of creating a specification.

Architecture

Like the Forms application, Smart Reference Data Plus clients communicate with the database through a web service. This architecture allows you to access the software as you would access a web page.
