When you copy a template specification, the software copies the base data required to copy template specifications.

The following base data is created, if not found in the destination project.

  • spec template

  • spec template NLS

  • spec template items

  • spec template item details

  • component groups

  • component group NLS

  • part symbols

If the commodity group and part are not found in the destination project, the software does not copy them.

If the short code is not found in the destination project, the software creates a new short code in the destination project with the same name.

The software also copies the product forms, product form NLS, and product form details before copying spec product forms in the destination project.

Table names and table groups must be present in the destination project to copy. If not found, the software skips copying the related information in the destination project.

If the table names and table groups are not found in the destination project, then:

  • Main material details are not copied into the destination project.

  • Specification defaults are copied, but the specification default items are not copied.

  • Specification product forms and details are not copied.

  • Filter lines are copied but details are not copied.

  • Filter line notes are copied.

  • Specification template Item details are not copied if the material table for pipe components is missing in the destination project.

The software also creates the nominal size table [preferred thickness] and filter geometric table [filter geometric] if not found in the destination project.

If table names and table groups are found, but table details are not found, the table details are created in the destination project.
