When you import Smart 3D catalog and spec data, the data needs to be made ready for export to Smart 3D. In order to do this, you have to make entries into the Smart Reference Data configuration screens. This configuration is now automated.

Import Smart 3D data to Smart Reference Data

  1. Click Smart 3D > Smart 3D Import.

  2. Click Import Configuration and select a configuration to create a staging area.

  3. Load the required code list sheets, part definition and spec rule sheets into the staging area. Once it is loaded, you can view the retrieval sources and retrieval methods configuration at the sheet level and at the attribute level.

  4. Click Smart 3D > Smart 3D Import Configuration > Data Table Configurations. The retrieval method is automatically selected as TEMPLATE_COPY for code list and spec rule, which are imported to templates at the data table level. The retrieval method and source is assigned automatically for the spec rule, spec item filter data tables at both data table and attribute level. For the part definition sheet, the corresponding retrieval method and source are updated at the data table level.

  5. Click Code list Mappings tab and map few code lists.

  6. Click Import to map code lists at the table level. The data table configuration is updated with appropriate retrieval method and source both at data table and attribute level. Now, code list is ready to be exported.

  7. Click Commodity Mappings tab and map and import commodity codes. At this level, user can generate both data table mappings and attribute mappings.

  8. Click Generate > Data table Mappings.This will generate data table mappings for the part definition sheets.

  9. Click Generate > Attribute Mappings. This will generate attribute mappings for codelist attributes present in the part definition and part filter sheets.

  10. Click Import geometrics tab and import geometrics related to the part definition sheet.

  11. Click Configure > Geometrics which will update retrieval method and source for geometric attributes in the Data table Configuration for the part definition sheets.

  12. Click Import Specifications and map and import specifications.

  13. Click Generate > Attribute Mappings.This will generate attribute mapping for code list attributes in sheets Spec item filter and PipingMaterialclassData both at component and specification mapping level.
