CADWorx Structure tab: Modify panel > Trim

Command line: TRIMSTR

Remove a portion of bracing from a gusset connection. The connection point will remain unchanged, but the member will display without the removed portion. The software updates the length, weight, and other affected properties of the trimmed member.

Trim a member

1. Click Trim on the Modify panel.

   You can also type TRIMRSTR in the command line.

2. Enter the trim distance, then press ENTER.

Set trim distance to 0 to remove trim.

1. Select the bracing connection to trim, then press ENTER.

   • Specify an End Point to trim a member at only one connection.

   • Select Middle to trim bracing members where they connect in the center of an X-brace.

   • Select Both to trim both ends of a bracing member.

2. Select bracing member(s), then press ENTER.
