  1. Click Bracing on the Model panel.

    The Bracing palette displays.

  2. Select Horizontal from the Bracing Type list.

  3. Select a Bracing Pattern.

  4. Select a Section Type.

  5. Select a Section Data Table.

  6. Select a Member Size.

  7. Select a Material or keep the default.

  8. Type an Angle between 0 and 360 for the member.

  9. Select a Cardinal Point.

  10. Select Reflect to flip the shape. Reflect is only noticeable on the angel or channel shapes.

  11. Select a Group.

  12. Select a Layer or keep the default.

  13. Type a Vertical Offset or keep the default. The example images contain a 5" vertical offset.

  14. Click the Details tab and update any required information.

  15. If you select Diag in step 3, then select a Place By option. Otherwise, skip this step.

  16. Click Insert.

  17. Click the first member for the location of the horizontal bracing. This must be a horizontal beam member.

  18. Click the second member parallel to the first member.

  19. Click the boundary members for the bracing.

    If you select Diag, the software prompts you to flip the bracing. Click Yes or No.

    The software inserts the horizontal bracing based on selected members.
