The SM_SRDBracket.xls workbook defines parameters for four-support (4S) and five-support (5S) bracket symbols. It also defines parameters for some two-support (2S) and three-support (3S) bracket symbols. The workbook is delivered to the [Product Folder]\ShipCatalogData\BulkLoad\DataFiles\StructDetail folder, and is bulkloaded into the Catalog.

Most 2S and 3S bracket symbols are defined in the SM_BracketEdgeContours.xls workbook, For more information, see Bracket Edge Contours Workbook.

Each worksheet in the workbook defines a bracket smart class, as defined by PartClassType and SelectionRule in the Definition section. Each line in the Head section defines a specific bracket smart object within the smart occurrence class, and the parameters of the object. Each smart occurrence class uses a different combination of the parameters listed below. For more information, see the bracket symbols in Bracket Symbols.

Definition Section

PartClassType - Class type "SmartOccurrence" defined on the PartClassTypes sheet of [Product Folder]\ShipCatalogData\BulkLoad\DataFiles\AllShipCodeLists.xls. Do not modify.

Name - Name of the smart class as it appears in the Catalog task.

SelectionRule - ProgID of the of the smart occurrence rule used by the smart class.

SCType - Code list value for the smart class type defined internally by the software. Do not modify.

SCSubType - Code list value for the smart class subtype defined internally by the software. Do not modify.

oa:[parameter name] - Occurrence attribute that places the named catalog attribute on the Parameters tab of the Properties dialog box (in the software). The parameter also appears in the Head section.

Head Section

Name - Name of the object as it appears in the Catalog task.

SymbolDefinition - 2D symbol file associated with the smart item. Parameters correspond to symbol parameters in this file.

Definition - ProgID of a definition class module within the smart occurrence rules.

ParameterRule - ProgID of a parameter class module within the smart occurrence rules.

Height[n] - The height of a fixed side of the bracket, measured from a support.

Width[n] - The width of a fixed side of the bracket, measured from a support.

Nose[n] - The height of a free side of the bracket, measured from a support.

Radius1 - A radius on the free edge of the bracket.

Offset[n] - For a bracket with a profile support, the distance from the top of the profile to the free edge of the bracket.

Scallop - The radius of cutout in the bracket at the junction of two supports.

CornerRadius - For a flanged bracket, the radius between the bracket and the flange.

Lap[n] -For a lapped bracket, the distance from a support to the lapped edge of the bracket.

SetBack - For a bracket defined by, but not attached to, a support, the distance from the support to the bracket edge.

BucklingStiffenerOffset - For a bracket with a buckling stiffener, the distance from the free edge of the bracket to the molded line of the stiffener.

ERBoundary1, ERBoundary2 - For a bracket with an edge reinforcement, the distance from the end of each free edge to the edge reinforcement.
