You can set an option to automatically save open documents at the interval that you specify. This safety feature prevents you from losing work in case of an unexpected system shutdown. You can set several options for AutoSave, including how often to save, which documents to save, and whether to be prompted for each save. You can use AutoSave when you have one or more documents open.

If AutoSave does not appear on the Tools menu, click Tools > Add-Ins. In the Add-In Manager dialog box, click the AutoSave check box and then click OK.
