You can use the HVAC.xls workbook to designate HVAC parts as splits. When you use an HVAC part as a split, you must specify whether its ends are rectangular or round flat flanges with the Rect_FlatFlange, RectFlatFlg, Round_FlatFlange, or RoundFlatFlg prefixes. After you bulkload the workbook, you can select the part as a split part when you click Insert Split and then open the Duct Split Feature Properties dialog box.

  1. Open the [Product Folder]\CatalogData\Bulkload\DataFiles\Hvac workbook.

  2. Open the sheet that contains the part to use as a split.

  3. Copy the sheet, and then add one of the following prefixes to the name of the copied sheet:

    • Rect_FlatFlange or RectFlatFlg for a rectangular flat flange.

    • Round_FlatFlange or RoundFlatFlg for a round flat flange.

  4. For the part to use as a split, set its ComponentType to 2, and then define its PartNumber as a unique value.

You can define multiple parts as split components.

  5. (Optional) Edit the UserClassName and OccClassName values, as required.

  6. In the R-ClassNodeDescribes sheet, add the new sheet name to the RelationDestination column, and then define RelationSource as Components.

  7. In the HvacSpec sheet, add the new sheet name to the PartNumber column in the specification tables as required.

  8. Configure the edited sheets for bulkload, and then save and bulkload the HVAC workbook.

The HVAC part is now available to select as a split part in Smart 3D.
