Provides the magnitude of the displacement for each load case. The summing methodology for Spectral analysis results in all positive displacements. For time history analysis, the results include the applicable sign.

The displacement report gives the maximum displacement that is anticipated because the application of the dynamic shock. For spectral analysis, note that all of the displacement values are positive. The direction of the displacement is indeterminate. For example, there is a tendency for the system to oscillate because of the potential energy stored after undergoing some maximum dynamic movement. The displacements printed are relative to the movement of the earth.
