Displays when you click the ellipsis button beside the Site administrator user group box on General tab of the Site Properties dialog box, allowing you to change the user group assigned administrator privileges for the site.

Use local machine and domain groups

Use this option when you want to choose an existing user group or domain that is accessible from your machine.

Use site server and domain groups

Use this option when you want to choose a user group or domain that is accessible from the site server machine.

Role name

Click the ellipsis button to open the Select Group dialog box and then select the Windows user group you want to assign to this new role. The name of the role will be the same as the name of the selected user group. To quickly find the user group in your domain, you can type a partial name in the Enter the object name to select field and click Check Names.

  • If, after clicking Check Names, the partial name you typed corresponds to a unique name of a user group, the full user group name is displayed. If the partial name corresponds to a string for more than one user group, the Multiple Names Found dialog box opens, from which you can select a user group. If the partial name does not correspond to a string in any user group, a message is displayed.

  • An Active Directory group must have Security status and Global group scope in order to be able to work with Smart Engineering Manager.

Role description

Type a descriptive note about the role that you are creating. You can make notes that indicate the privileges assigned to the group. If a description was defined when the group was created, it appears by default.
