SAP Work Orders, Operations, and Work Notifications in j5 - j5 - 30 - Connectors & Integration - Octave

j5 can import and regularly synchronize SAP Work Orders, Operations, and Work Notifications from SAP. This information allows you to view maintenance activity recorded in SAP and make informed operational decisions.

The following diagram illustrates how j5 handles this data:

j5 initially imports SAP Work Orders, Operations, Work Notifications, and all required master and user data, and then synchronizes this information with SAP at regular intervals to keep the data current.

By default, j5 synchronizes this data hourly, at the start of each hour. You can configure the synchronization schedule to run at a different time or daily.

During synchronization, j5 imports:

• All required master and user data (such as maintenance plants, priority types, and notification types) into j5 tables to support the modules.

• SAP Work Orders into the Work Orders module.

• You can view work orders and operations only within their respective j5 modules. SAP work orders and operations cannot be created from within j5.

• You can both view and create work notifications in the j5 Work Notification module. When a user submits a work notification in j5, j5 synchronizes it to SAP at submission time. j5 does not synchronize the work notifications created in j5 as part of the hourly synchronization.
