The built-in operations logbook Default Form can be used without customization or it can be overridden by a modified Default Form in the j5 IndustraForm Designer.

A single modified Default Form design can be used across all of the areas for every category or multiple designs can be used for specific areas, specific categories, or both.

The position of a modified operations logbook Default Form in the navigation pane in the j5 IndustraForm Designer determines where the form is available. The following is an explanation of how the position of a Default Form in the navigation pane affects its availability on the j5 Operations Management System:

  • A modified Default Form configured above the area tree in the navigation pane overrides the built-in Default Form in all areas.

  • A modified Default Form configured at an area node is available for use in that area and all its child areas. This Default Form overrides the built-in Default Form and the Default Form configured above the area tree for these areas. In this way, a Default Form can be modified for specific areas.

In the above example, the Default Form configured at the Distillation node is available for use in the Distillation area and its child units (Crude Oil Distillation Unit and Vacuum Distillation Unit).

  • In the example below, the Default Form - Downtime is a Default Form for Downtime entries. It is available for use in the Power Generation section and its child areas (Distribution, Generation, and Transmission). This form has its own button above the Operations Logbook list view and is labeled Downtime.
