Event Frames can be configured to create j5 Operations Logbook entries with specific categories using the Detail tab in their Event Frame Configuration entry.

j5 looks at the PI AF Element attached to the Event Frames in the j5 Asset Register to map the Event Frames to the correct area node in the j5 Area Hierarchy.

  • When the GUID of the PI AF Element matches the j5 Asset Name, the asset’s area information is stored in a hidden field on the Event Frame. This area information is then applied to the Operations Logbook entry created by the Event Frame.

  • When the PI AF Element GUID doesn't find a match in the j5 Asset Register, no area is applied to the new Operations Logbook entry. As a result, the Operations Logbook entry will be invisible to most users and won't be particularly helpful.

Therefore, to produce meaningful Operations Logbook entries, all of the expected PI AF Elements must be represented in the j5 Asset Register. The Name field for each PI AF Element must match the element’s GUID.
