Setting up Authentication with PI
When setting up authentication on the PI Server, follow the instructions in the PI Data Archive 2018 System Management Guide under Manage authentication. The manual can be found here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Downloads/All-Downloads
For production systems, we recommend that you use Windows authentication. Ensure that there is a user mapping between the j5 service user and the appropriate pi user or pi group. The j5 service user is the Windows user that runs the j5 server.
On a production system, when integrated with PI, j5 should not run on the default
NETWORK_SERVICE user.
