The j5 Maximo interface queries Maximo for locations using a SOAP web service exposed by Maximo. The WSDL URL of this web service is captured in the Location WSDL URL box. If a SOAP service is configured off the default location object (LOCATIONS), the WSDL URL is: http://<server name>:<port name>/meaweb/services/LOCATIONS?wsdl

The Location Service URL is the URL j5 calls when calling the query operation in the WSDL. This service URL is usually defined in the WSDL but Maximo can be configured to expose a different URL. This is why it has a separate configuration point. If a SOAP service is configured off the default location object (LOCATIONS), the service URL is: http://<server name>:<port name>/meaweb/services/LOCATIONS

Read more about how to find the service URL for a web service in the section on Finding the Service URL for a web service.

The Location Operation is the common text in the web service operations on the WSDL for querying locations. For example, if the web service operations are "CreateLOCATIONS", "DeleteLOCATIONS", "QueryLOCATIONS" etc, Location Operation is "LOCATIONS".

The SOAP identifier for Location Set is the SOAP element that contains the list of locations, for example LOCATIONSSet.

The Location Identifier is the unique identifier of a location in the Maximo table. It is important that the identifier is a unique integer as it is used to iterate through the data set of locations during a full synchronization. It is also used as the unique identifier of locations in the j5 Maximo Functional Location table.

Location Filter is a filter condition that allows the interface to exclude a subset of locations from the synchronization. This is of the form of a SQL WHERE clause. For example, FIELDX IS NOT NULL

SQL query to fetch the Location record with the maximum ID is used by the batch processing during the full synchronization with Maximo to identify the maximum of the Location Identifier. This maximum bounds the j5 synchronization in order to identify when the operation is complete.

Location Date Changed Field is the field on the location that identifies the last date and time that the location was modified in Maximo. This is used to identify the change set during the incremental synchronization.

On occasion, assets and locations are both defined in Maximo’s LOCATIONS table. In this case, the Asset and Location configuration is identical on this setup page except perhaps for the filter configuration.
