This document makes the following assumptions:

You have a production server that contains the j5 application suite, and a database server that includes the j5 database (these could be on one physical or virtual machine).

Your j5 production server is running a supported Windows Server.

You have a standby server containing the j5 application suite. When necessary, the staging environment can be used for this.

You have a standby database server (this could be on the standby server), and your j5 production database is backed up, or has replication and failover capabilities, to the standby database server.
