The j5 applications have the following relevant files and folders that must be considered.

  • j5 Database - must be backed up regularly and must be replicated to the failover system.

  • Data Files - must be backed up regularly and must be replicated to the failover system.

    • User attachment files (The location of the attachments is a configuration option - File System Storage).

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\data (excluding C:\ProgramData\j5\data\solr - this index will be rebuilt after failover to ensure consistency)

  • Local Settings - should not be replicated to the failover system, but should be backed up to a separate

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\config

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\generated_files

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\licenses

  • Log Files - should not be replicated to the failover system, but should be backed up to a separate location.

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\log

  • Temporary Files - should not be replicated to the failover system.

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\cache

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\pid

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\temp

    • C:\ProgramData\j5\data\solr

  • Installed Application Files - should not be replicated to the failover system.
