Validation - The input cell doesn’t accept a particular value or a value that exceeds a particular range. For example, Tank A’s maximum volume is 1500 liters. A validation rule can be set up to invalidate any value greater than 1500 that might occur due to a typo. An IndustraForm section can’t be submitted with an invalid value.

Number and Integer cell types invalidate text input by default.

Flagging – The j5 software draws attention (raises a flag) to a particular value or a value that exceeds a particular range. For example, Tank B’s maximum volume is 1500 liters. A flagging rule can be set up to flag any value greater than 1400 liters so the tank’s volume can be addressed before it overflows.

Apply validation or flagging rule to an input cell

  1. Select the cell you want to apply the rule to.

  2. Scroll down to the Invalid If and Raise Flag If sections on the Properties tab.

  3. Set the validation or flagging rule.

For more information, refer to Subsections: Invalid If and Raise Flag If.
