Video: Configure j5 Operational Areas

It is likely that the Operational Areas for your j5 system will already have been configured during the pre-installation configuration process. If not, or if changes need to be made, these can be implemented using the Operations Areas page.

The Operational Areas configuration page is accessed via the Configuration menu.

To configure your j5 Operational Areas:

  1. Right-click on a node to display the action menu. Use the following actions to build the Operational Area structure you want:

    • Edit [node] - Change the name of the current node.

    • Add Child to [node] - Create a new node, with the current node as its parent.

    • Add Sibling to [node] - Create a new node, with the same parent as the current node.

    • Copy [node] - Create a duplicate of the current node, placing it temporarily in the clipboard.

    • Cut [node] - Remove the current node from its position, placing it temporarily in the clipboard.

    • Paste [node] - Insert the copied/cut node stored in the clipboard as a sibling of the current node.

    • Paste [node] under [node] - Insert the copied/cut node stored in the clipboard as a child of the current node.

    • Delete [node] - Remove the current node from the tree.

  2. When all the required changes have been made, select Save.

You can drag nodes to a new position. Sibling nodes can be reordered, but you can’t move a node to another parent.
