After hosting SDB Merge Tool successfully, user can access the tool in a web browser.

For example, URL: https://<Server Name>/SDBMerge/Index.html

User can access the tool URL from Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome web browsers.

Login UI for the SDB Merge Tool has the following inputs:

  1. In a web browser, type SDB Merge Tool URL and click Enter.

  2. Type Source and Target Database details along with M_SYS schema password for respective databases.

    • Source Database: Standard Database created using Standard Database Setup wizard.

    • Target Database: Customer database.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Choose the data to merge from the list

    1. Standard Reference Data: Select this option to merge SDB data to the target database.

    2. Smart Materials: Select this option to merge SMAT data in SDB to the target database..

  5. Select Product Group SDB from the list.

  6. Select the Language as English or Industry from the list, and then click Login.

  7. If the user selects Smart Materials in step 4, then complete merge of SMAT data to target database is initiated

  8. If the user selects Smart Reference Data in step 4, then you are prompted with a menu. From the menu, select any of the following modes:

    • Differences not shown in hierarchy

    • Show differences in hierarchy

      • Non-CMS Data

      • CMS Data

  9. If the user selects Differences not shown in hierarchy and clicks Next, the Merge Tool User Interface is displayed..

  10. If the user selects Show Differences in hierarchy for the first-time, you are provided with an option to perform the comparison of CMS data and Non-CMS data separately or together based on your requirement.

  11. You can select the Non-CMS and/or CMS, then click Next. The comparison of data between source and target databases begins.

  12. After comparison, if the user selects Show Differences in hierarchy, the following sub modes are displayed:

    • Selective Merge of Data

      By selecting this mode, user can merge specific set of data selectively from source to target database. For example, if users want to merge only few commodity codes from source to target database, they can use this mode.

    • Complete Merge of Data

      If the user selects this mode, the complete merge of data will be initiated from source to target database. All the Source only and Difference records will be merged from source to target database. All the log files related to this process will be generated in the Merge Tool logs folder.

  13. If you choose to perform only the Non-CMS comparison in step 10, you will have the following options:

    • Perform the comparison of CMS data

    • Perform selective/complete merge of Non-CMS data (Comparison completed).
