Standard Database for Smart Reference Data Version
12.1

The following are the features available in the SDB Merge Tool:

  • Intuitive web-based user interface to select, view and merge selected data from one SDB database to another SDB database. This is achieved by automatic identification of the mandatory parent dependencies required for merging the selected data and auto create them in the target database.

For example, to add a commodity code in an SDB database, a commodity group, part, and a commodity rule are the mandatory dependencies. So, if you merge a new commodity code into a database, then the mandatory dependencies (commodity group, part, and commodity rule) will be identified and auto-created in the target database.

  • Using the SDB Merge Tool, data can be merged only from source to target database and not vice-versa. Target only records will not be affected by the merging process.

  • SDB Merge Tool user can now opt to merge Smart Materials data to the target database. User can toggle between Smart Reference Data merging and Smart Materials merging while Login. In the Smart Materials merging option, user can merge entire SMAT data from source to target database. You can view the merge progress status on the screen.

  • In the Smart Reference Data merge option, user is provided with Show differences in hierarchy mode. In this mode, user can apply data filters on object hierarchy to easily filter the data that needs to be reviewed or merged.

  • Show differences in hierarchy mode is enabled to perform complete merge of data from source database to target database with a single-click. The complete merge process generates a HTML log report for all the changes made in the target database and errors that are encountered during the merge process.

  • Show differences in hierarchy feature now provides user flexibility to perform the comparison of CMS data and Non-CMS data together or separately based on the requirements. After the completion of comparison user can choose to merge CMS and Non-CMS content or discard it.

  • User can mark the visited nodes as reviewed for tracking the merging progress in Show differences in hierarchy mode. The reviewed nodes can then be hidden from the Merge Tool User Interface.

  • Re-Compare Hierarchy option available with Right Mouse Click (RMC) menu in Show differences in hierarchy mode. Once the user merges data under a node, user can re-compare the hierarchy whenever required to get the updated tree view.

  • The Merge tool provides the ability to report the data from both the database into an excel file. User can click on a node and report the data related to that object. The data is reported for each attribute value side by side. This enables to easily compare the data differences. This functionality helps in identifying exact SDB upgrade changes during the migration process so that user can select, and merge required changes to target.

  • The functionalities like Excel Report, Sort/Filter, Saving Direct Child Records, Saving Dependencies, and so on are available in both modes.
