The Override Layers on Export (OLOE) ini setting is used only when the itacad.ini file has a seed file entry in it. This seed file contains the same layers as that of the RAD document layers and is also used in exporting drawing files.

You can process the layers if there is no name conflict between the layers of AutoCAD template file and RAD document. Make sure the th graphics present on the corresponding layers are visible on export. In case, there is any name conflict between the layers of AutoCAD template file and RAD document, then the ini setting is used. The ini setting contains the following values:

  • Value 0: If the value is 0, then both the template file layer and the RAD document layer are processed. The visibility and the symbology of the graphics on this overridden layer is controlled by the template file layer visibility and symbology.

The Bylayer setting also must be considered. In AutoCAD, if the color, the line weight, and the line style of an entity is set to Bylayer, then the layer symbology is given to the graphics. Similarly, to have the symbology of the template file layer on the graphics, Bylayer ini setting should be set in itacad.ini file. If there is no Bylayer setting then the graphic's own symbology is exported.

  • Value 1: If the value is 1, then all the layers present in template file and the RAD document are processed. The visibility and the symbology of the graphics on overridden layers are controlled by the RAD document layer's visibility and symbology.

  • Value 2: .The value 2 is specific to the block references. The objects in the block references go to the layer 0 when the OLOE is set to 2. With this, the actual block is placed on the correct layer. Placing the entities inside a block definition on layer 0 ensures that AutoCAD treats these blocks correctly when the visibility of their layer is changed.

  • The default value of OLOE is 1.

  • The current setting is designed to be more generic and can be used by all RAD applications. The settings in the older version of AutoCAD library from RAD is used only by SPPID.
