7.1 (2014 R1)
Smart Engineering Manager Version
7.2 (2014 R2)

General

  • When updating pipe spec attributes for an item, PipeSpec and Item Tag validation routines are triggered for appropriate items to ensure that their commodity codes and item tags are updated.

  • Asking filters can now be used in display sets in the SmartPlant P&ID modeler to display those drawing items that share one or more attribute values. When applying a display set with an asking filter to a drawing, the user is prompted to enter attribute values for the asking filter. These attribute values can be different for each drawing where the display set is applied and are retained on a per drawing basis until the display set assigned to a drawing is cleared.

Reports

  • Reports generated from the Engineering Data Editor now honor AutoFilters, regardless of the number of items returned by the selection, thus allowing users to manage and control the data presented in the reports.

Save As

  • The 'Save As' and 'Save as Assembly' features are now available from SmartPlant P&ID Engineering.

  • When saving drawings to AutoCAD or MicroStation using the Save As command, display sets can now be used to specify the assignment of layers and colors of items in the exported drawings. In Drawing Manager, the behavior is similar to batch printing: the user selects a set of drawings to be translated and chooses a display set for those drawings. If no display set is selected, translation is determined by the ExportLayer.xlsx file.

SmartPlant Integration

  • When publishing documents, a new relation (PBSItemCollection) is included for pipe runs. This relation identifies the pipe run with the name of the plant group to which it is associated.

  • This version of SmartPlant P&ID includes the infrastructure to support publishing of Duct Runs, Ducting Components, Ducting Ports, Duct Nozzles, Rooms, and Room Components. This functionality will be activated once it is supported in SmartPlant Foundation 5.3 and later.

  • This version of SmartPlant P&ID includes the infrastructure to support ICC2 functionality (publishing from projects) and has been designed to support workflows related to integrated engineering design and concurrent engineering using Projects / As-Built. This functionality will be activated once it is supported in SmartPlant Foundation 5.3 and later.

Symbols

  • When replacing symbols using Replace Mode or the Find and Replace command, PipeSpec and Item Tag validation routines are triggered to ensure that commodity codes and item tags are updated appropriately.
