Obtain a certificate from the server

  1. Find the certificate using the certmgr.msc utility.

    If you cannot find the certificate, use the Certificate snap-in option in the Microsoft Management Console to import the certificate.

  2. Right-click the certificate, and select All Tasks > Export.

  3. Using the wizard that appears, create a DER encoded binary X.509 CER file.

  4. If you are prompted to include private keys, click No.

  5. Copy the CER file to the Brava! Enterprise server.

Import the CER file to the Java cacerts store

  1. Log on to the Brava! Enterprise Server.

  2. Using an Administrator command prompt, change to the following directory:

    [Java installation directory]\Java\jre[version]\lib\security

    The default Java installation directory is C:\Program Files (x86).

  3. Make a backup copy of the cacerts file, for example cacerts.bak.

  4. Import the CER file using the Keytool utility included with the JRE:

    ..\..\bin\keytool.exe -import -trustcacerts -file "C:\Certificates\my.cer
    -alias mycertificate –keystore "%CD%\cacerts

    If prompted for the cacerts password, the default is changeit. Yours might be different.

  5. When prompted to include the certificate, enter yes.

  6. Verify that the certificate has been imported by viewing the available certificates:

    ..\..\bin\keytool -list -v -keystore "%CD%\cacerts

Restart services

You can stop and start services using the Microsoft Services dialog box, available from Administrative tools in the Control Panel.

  1. Stop the following services in the order listed:

    • Apache Tomcat

    • Brava! Job Processor

      If you are using a version prior to SmartPlant Markup Plus 2019 Service Pack 1, you also need to restart the Brava! Enterprise License Server service.

  2. Restart the services in reverse order.
