By default, all the components in the selected catalog display when you first open Alias Catalogue Viewer. Use the toolbar that runs across the top of the Catalogue Viewer to filter the contents so that only components or a specific type or that belong to a specific component group are displayed.
Filter by component group
The toolbar buttons enable you to filter the catalog to only display that component group in the list.

Click the toolbar button that corresponds to the component group to view. For example, click Valve
to view only valve components.
The Component list updates to only display valve components.
Filter by component type
The list box at the base of the Component list allows you to filter the catalog based on component type.

Select the component type you want to view. For example, to view only the angle valves that are in the current catalog, click Angel valve.
The Component list updates to display only the angle valves that are available in the current catalog.
The toolbar buttons used in the Alias Catalogue Viewer are also used in SmartPlant Isometrics for sketching pipe and for the placement of
the component types.
