SmartPlant Markup Plus Version
10.0 (2019)

The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 33 and SmartPlant Markup Plus Server 2019 SP 1 or earlier. For the latest information, see Creating custom stamps, symbols, and action pins.

You can customize an existing symbol using SmartPlant Markup Plus in stand-alone mode.

  1. Open SmartPlant Markup Plus in stand-alone mode on the SmartPlant Markup Plus server.

  2. Open a non-Hexagon file format to open Brava! Desktop for SmartPlant Markup Plus.

  3. Open an existing symbol XSP file.

  4. Edit the symbol file using the available tools.

    • The symbol file might appear very small or large. Keep in mind that the symbol can be rescaled when placed in a markup layer.

    • Zoom closely as you work, especially when adjusting connected lines.

    • Try to maintain the original scaling of the file.

  5. Save your work as a new XSP file.

  6. Create a symbol PNG file to be used in the Web Client symbol library.

    • You can create a PNG file by taking a screenshot of the symbol image and editing the screenshot using image editing software.

    • The background of the symbol image should be set to transparent using image editing software.

To make your new symbol available in the Web Client, follow the steps in Adding stamps or symbols to the library.
