The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 23. For the latest information, see Configure a template user in SmartPlant Foundation.
You must configure a template user in SmartPlant Foundation when there is not a user already defined that can be used for first-time log in using Smart API Manager. This is because SmartPlant Foundation must be able to generate a user record for this new user. The template user is configurable and gives administrators a way to control the default user access permissions.
-
In the Desktop Client, click Find > Administration > SmartPlant Foundation Options.
-
Select SystemOptions > Update.
-
In the Update - SPF System Options dialog box, select a user from the list in the Default User box.
-
Click Finish.
