The default search operator is Contains, which means the criteria entered in the search bar is contained in the results for each returned object. For example, if you type ENG as the criteria, any objects that contain ENG are returned.

You can change the search operator so that 'Is equal to' Operator is selected by default for an Entry Point. This search operator helps improve search performance by targeting the results to return an exact match to the search criteria.

You can change the default search operator as follows:

  1. Search for the API Entry Point you want to edit, and select Actions > Update.

  2. In the Main Details, select the Use Equal To Operator By Default option so that the 'Is equal to' Operator is always selected in the search bar menu.

  • If you do not set the Use Equal To Operator By Default option, you can manually select the 'Is equal to' Operator in the search menu each time you run a search.

  • The delivered search operator default is Contains, but a search returns everything that contains the search criteria.

  • You must be a system administrator to update an API Entry Point display. For more information, see Update an API Entry Point display.
