Some common Server Manager commands can be executed using the Windows command prompt.

The Server Manager executable file, SPFServerManager.exe, is delivered within the product installation folder. By default, it is located at:C:\Program Files (x86)\SPF\SPFServerManager, but this location can be changed during installation.

  • The commands for some optional components are available only if those components are installed on the server.

  • Ensure that create/read/write permissions are granted on any folder location.

  • You can only create a new site using the command line when there is an existing database.

  • Ensure all /log files created by a command line are saved in the default Temp\ServerManager directory and not saved in the installation directory. For example, C:\SmartPlant Foundation Server Files\Temp\ServerManager.

As a general rule, all arguments that take a value require the use of quote marks around the value if there are spaces in the string. For example: /log:"c:\SmartPlant Foundation server files\temp\servermanager\create site".
