You can create a data connection with the sample Excel file PUMPS_500OrigC from the sample data located on Smart Community. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

Log onto the the software as a Data CaptureAdministrator.

Click Data Capture Administration > Data Reader Patterns.

In the Data Reader Patterns module, click Data Connections.

In the Data Connections page, click Add Data Connection .

In the Create Data Connection window, enter the following information

Name - Type a name for the data connection. For example, you can name it as Xls_PumpList.

Domain - Type the domain name that you want to create in product database to store the domain tags. For example, you can type the domain name as XlsPumps.

Connection Type - Select Excel from the database list.

Provider Name - Type the provider name for the database (the default value is Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0).

Click OK > Save to save the data connection details in the database.

You can also create data connections for any of the databases such as Oracle, SQL, MS Access, and Custom.

To edit an existing data connection, click .

To delete one or more existing data connections from the list, click .
