    • Only one instance of the FTR Preview window can be active at a time.

  2. From the FTR Preview window, select one of the following:

    • Relevance - Displays results that are similar to the search text.

    • Object Type - Displays results grouped by the class definitions containing the search text.

  3. Enter the search text in the Search box.

    • For example, if you select Relevance search and type Inst as the search text, the search engine searches for words that are similar to Inst and displays Instrument and Installation in the Results area.

    • For example, if you select Object Type search and type Inst as the search text, the search engine displays list of class definitions like Model Instrument, Vendor document, and so on in the Results area. The search keyword, Inst, is listed in any of the properties of the class definitions.

SHARED Tip You can also select check boxes beside results and click Get Results to view object information.

  • If the search results exceed 50, you can view the results in multiple pages. The page size for search results is based on the value defined for the Paged query size parameter on the FTRPreview method. The Paged query size has a default value of 50.

  • The search results can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking any column in the Results area.
