To support the multi-level hierarchy of dossiers and dossier chapters, parameter 1, GraphDef to navigate to the files and parameter 2, Specify dynamic expression for merge order, of the SPXGenerateMergedRendition client API are not supported with SPO/E Core methods SPXDossierCurrentPDF and SPXDossierCurrentWorkingPDF.

You can combine PDFs of all the documents and files attached to a dossier and its chapters into a single merged PDF.

SHARED Tip PDF generation of a dossier will be faster if you first generate the individual PDF for each file attached to the documents or dossier chapters. For more information on generating PDF for a file, see Generating PDFs.

How are documents attached to a dossier organized?

When you generate a PDF of a dossier, the documents and files attached to dossier chapters are organized according to the Order Value of the dossier chapters.

  1. Right-click the dossier, and click Generate Merged PDF > Current Documents.

  2. Select the option for the documents and files you want to include in the PDF of dossier:

    • Select Current Documents to include only signed off documents. This means all documents with a revision state of Current are included in the PDF.

    • Select Current and Working (if NO Current) Documents to include both signed off documents and the latest drafts of other documents that are not yet signed off. This means all documents with a revision state of either Current or Working are included in the PDF.

A scheduler task for PDF generation is created.

SHARED Tip After the scheduler task is successfully processed, you can view the PDF. To do so, right-click the dossier and click View Merged Rendition.
