  1. Click Find > MTR > Authored Register Documents, and search for the authored document you want to publish.

  2. Select the document or documents, right-click, and click MTR > Publish.

When multiple documents are selected, only property values shared by all of the selected documents appear in the table. Changing a value in the table changes that value for all of the selected documents.

  3. Type the SmartPlant Foundation user name and password if prompted.

  4. Perform the following in the Publish dialog box:

    • On the Publish tab, select a Workflow for the document to be published.

By default a workflow is populated if it is configured through SmartPlant Foundation Server Manager

    • Select the owning group from the list of owning groups available in SmartPlant Foundation for publishing.

By default, the owning group selected for the previous version, if any, is displayed.

    • Select one of the following publish methods from the Operation list.

      • Publish to publish the selected documents immediately when you click OK.

      • Background publish to publish as a separate process so that you can continue working in the application. When you use this feature, an e-mail message alerts you when the process is complete. To configure your email for receiving email notifications, see Setting up e-mail for SmartPlant Foundation.

  5. Click OK.

  6. In the Batch Publish dialog box, perform the following:

    • Select Publish each document in separate process for publishing each selected document as a separate process.

      • If this option is selected, the bulk publish processes in the background for each document, then closes after each successful publish.

      • If this option is not selected, the bulk publish processes in the background for each document, but remains open to publish documents in sequence. The default is that this option is not checked.

    • Select Enable concurrent publish for publishing multiple documents simultaneously rather than separately. This option is only checked if Publish each document in a separate process is checked.

    • Type value in the Publish pool size box to specify the maximum number of documents can be published concurrently.

Setting the pool size to 1 is similar to not checking Enable concurrent publish. This option is only available if Publish each document in a separate process is checked

  7. Click OK.

  8. In the Publish dialog box, click OK.

SHARED Tip You can also click MTR Publish publish icon on the toolbar to publish the selected authored document.

  • The MTRPublish command is available only for an authored document for which a snapshot is already created.

  • When the authored document is published, SmartPlant Foundation creates a published document in the MTRPublishing domain with the same name as the authored document.

  • SmartPlant Foundation loads and consolidates the authored tags into a published (MTRPublishing) domain and the CDW domain, respectively. Click Find > Consolidated Data > All Consolidated Objects to check that the authored tags were consolidated.
