Activity Items (Vendor Docs) relate to the parent Activity. Typically, these would be documents that get sent to and received from Suppliers. Each time there would be a status code on the document.

The parent Activity is the object that gets Registered and Progressed. It uses the same Hierarchy as Design Progress. Activities are registered to Activity Workpacks.

The parent Activity’s progress is recalculated every time one of its Activity Items is updated or an item is added or removed.

The aggregation of the child Activity Items forms the basis of the Activity’s progress.

Activity lifecycle

A typical lifecycle of an activity progressed deliverable is as follows:

  1. Deliverable metadata is created in the system and the deliverable is related to the required activity. The deliverable’s metadata will include a due date, that is, the date when the physical document is needed by.

  2. Document for the deliverable is received and checked-in. The Actual Receipt Date of the deliverable is updated.

  3. The document is internally reviewed after which a Return Status Code will be assigned to the deliverable.

  4. The document is sent issued back to its originator (on a transmittal) and the Actual Return Date and Planned Due Date of the deliverable is set.
