  1. Click File > New > Administration > Printer in the Desktop Client.

  2. Type a name for the printer.

  3. In the Command name box, type the name of the printer to be used (for example, SmartPlant PDF Converter NNN (where NNN denotes the version number)).

    This printer can be a local printer on the SmartPlant Foundation server, or it can be a shared network printer. For a local printer, the name you type in the Command name box must match the printer name in the Control Panel.

    For a shared network printer, type the UNC path to the printer, for example, \\printserver\printqueue. In addition, the user running SPFRemoteServices must be granted print access to the shared network printer.

  4. Select the Offline indicator check box if you want an indication when the printer is off-line.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Repeat these steps for each printer in the printer group.

  7. When all the printers have been created, click Finish.
