  2. Right-click the register document and select Generate Register.

  3. Select Run now to generate the register now and click ViewLog to view the results of the register generation.

The option to select previous version is available only if Show change status column option is selected in the register definition corresponding to the selected register document.

Generate for multiple register documents

  5. Click OK to generate register documents.

  • You can view the detailed information about the success and failure of the tag register generation in the log file. Click the link in the Generate Register Result dialog box to open the log file.

  • If you schedule generation for multiple documents, separate Scheduled tasks are created for each register document.

  • The Generate Register command cannot be run on the register documents on which a scheduled task is in processing state.

  • If the generated register is an Excel file and the selected register type is Full with show change status column or Incremental, the Excel file displays the modified property values of tags in bold. When you hover your mouse on the modified value, you can view the comparison version of the tag register value.

  • If you select the Identify missing mandatory data option while creating a register definition, the generated register displays all the mandatory properties that do not contain values assigned to them.

For example, the property Module is set as mandatory when creating a register definition. If you do not provide any value for that property during tag creation, the Tag status property value for those tags is displayed as MISSING in the generated tag register.

SHARED Tip You can also click Generate Register on the tool bar menu to generate tag registers.
