Workflow expiration is managed by a scheduler task that is set up in the workflow options. The email notifications to be distributed by the workflow scheduler are also set up in the workflow options.

ISPFWorkflowOptions interface
ISPFWorkflowOptions controls the frequency of when default emails are sent.
