The following graphic describes the architecture for viewing and downloading files in SmartPlant Foundation.
1 |
The SmartPlant Foundation client sends a request to the SmartPlant Foundation Server to initiate transfer of a file for viewing or downloading. |
2 |
The server sends the request to the file server to copy the file to the SPFViewDir on the file server. |
3 |
The file server responds to the SmartPlant Foundation server when the file has been copied to the SPFViewDir. |
4 |
The SmartPlant Foundation server returns the URL of the file on the file server to the client. |
5 |
The client opens the specified URL on the file server. |
-
When a user selects the Check Out command, a subdirectory is created under the temporary file location for the Session ID of the client transferring the file.
-
When a client wants to view these files, an additional VIEW directory is created below the user's session subdirectory. This subdirectory stores the files so that they can be directly accessed via a URL rather than being transferred to the client computer.
