To configure a display item to be dependent on another item, create a relationship between the two items.

Drag the dependent display item onto the parent display item to open a New Relationship dialog box. For example, drop the display item for a unit onto the display item for an area.

Click Maintain Attributes to open the Update form for the relationship.

Enter a path definition in the Path definition box, such as +SPFFunctionalAreaUnits. This path defines the way to navigate from one item to the other. This path is directional and is prefixed with a plus (+) sign or a minus (-) sign. The direction is from the parent related object to the dependent related object, for example, from the area to the unit.

Click OK to save the changes.

Click OK on the New Relationship dialog box to create the relationship.
